How It Started

The Malnad region of Karnataka, particularly Thirthahalli and Sagar in Shivamogga, Tarikere and Kadur in Chikkamagaluru, and Sirsi in Uttara Kannada, is well known for the cultivation of Areca Nut and Cardamom. These crops play an important role in the region's agricultural economy. Processing of areca nut and cardamom involves boiling and drying operations, which traditionally consume large amounts of fuel, creating a need for more efficient and sustainable solutions. Recognizing this need, Green Care Technologies and Engineering was established in 2000 with the vision of promoting energy-efficient technologies for farmers. Organizations such as the Indian Institute of Science (ASTRA Centre) and TIDE (Technology Informatics Design Endeavour) have actively encouraged the adoption of energy-efficient methods for areca cooking and drying processes. In 2019, we expanded our product range by introducing Areca Nut Dehusking Machines and Conveyors with innovative and efficient designs. By understanding farmers' needs and considering their valuable suggestions, we provide durable, cost-effective, and low-maintenance machines. Our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has earned the trust of more than 3,000 satisfied customers.
